IMPACT Laser Therapy and Wellness Lights Up Amarillo with Photobiomodulation
What is Photobiomodulation?
Simply put, photobiomodulation is the Modulation of a Biological tissue using Photons.
Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMt) is a medically and wholistically accepted modality that uses non-ionizing light sources (including lasers, LEDs, and broadband light) in the visible, infrared, and near infrared spectrums.
At Impact Laser Therapy and Wellness, we provide Deep Tissue Laser Therapy which entails the use of Class IV lasers as mechanisms by which the energy from light, in the form of photons, is transmitted into the cell, and subsequently absorbed by the cell to be used for a multitude of healing, therapeutic benefits including the alleviation of muscle and joint pain, decreased muscle stiffness, increased range of motion and mobility, a decrease in pain from arthritis and other musculoskeletal injuries, and muscle relaxation and a decrease in muscle spasms.
While there are thousands of studies researching the effects of PBMt, the preponderance of the research suggests the photobiomodulation boils down to a few main cellular processes:
A reduction in oxidative stress and inflammation. Inflammation has been spouted as the culprit, root cause in many chronic diseases. PBMt’s reduction in inflammation is enhanced by an analgesic, healing effect on nerve fibers, which reduces pain.
An increase in cellular energy. To a cell, the mitochondria within the cell is kind of like a car motor to a car. ATP (adenosine triphosphate) is like gasoline. PBMt rejuvenates the mitochondria, or motor within the cell, and stimulates the production of ATP, giving that cell a new tank of gas in a fully functioning engine. Thereby, every cell that receives PTMt is ripe and ready to do the next right thing when it comes to healing, growing, and improving tissues, organs, and body systems.
Increased circulation. On the cellular level, photobiomodulation causes nitric oxide to be released from cells, which yields vasodilation. This increase in the size of blood vessels causes fresh blood flow to rush to the area, bringing with it nutrients and oxygen. Further, when the vessels return back to their normal state, the blood flow leaves and takes toxins with it.
If you live in Amarillo, TX or its surrounding areas, and you suffer from musculoskeletal pain, muscle tightness, muscle fatigue, or if you have recently sustained an acute injury, or if you suffer from chronic conditions that cause pain, or inflammatory conditions that cause pain the friendly and knowledgeable technicians at Impact Laser Therapy will safely and effectively give you a therapeutic dose of light via photobiomodulation to aid in your recovery.
Here at IMPACT, we use the renowned Light Force Class IV Lasers. Light Force has a very informative video on this topic which can be viewed below.
